Runway does not collect your data. There is no account, no server and no analytics service. Everything the app does happens on your iPhone.
Not the camera, not your location, not your contacts, your microphone, your photos, your calendar, Health, notifications or tracking. The app ships with no permission request strings at all, which is why iOS never shows you a prompt — there is nothing for it to ask you about.
This is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly: your financial figures are the most sensitive thing an app like this could touch, so Runway is built so that it never has anywhere to send them.
Runway saves the following locally, using Apple's on-device database and the standard iOS settings store:
This data never leaves your device, and it is not backed up to any server run by us. If your iPhone is included in an iCloud or encrypted local backup, it may be included in that backup, under Apple's control and covered by Apple's privacy policy. Deleting the app deletes all of it, permanently. There is no copy anywhere else.
Runway does not connect to your bank, and there is no screen in the app that offers to. It has no open-banking integration, no card linking and no transaction import. Every figure in Runway is one you typed in yourself. It follows that Runway never sees your account numbers, sort codes, card details or balances, and never holds a credential that could be used to reach them.
The forecast is arithmetic applied to the figures you enter. The tax set-aside is a percentage you choose being held back from income — it is not a tax calculation, it does not know your jurisdiction, allowances or expenses, and it does not pay anything to anyone. Runway is a planning tool, not a regulated financial service, and nothing in it is advice about what you should do with your money.
Runway Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. We never see your payment details, your name or your Apple Account. Apple tells the app one thing only: whether a valid subscription is currently active. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Runway contains no advertising, no third-party SDKs, no tracking pixels and no cross-app or cross-site tracking of any kind. The App Tracking Transparency prompt is never shown, because there is nothing to ask you about.
Runway is rated 4+. Because the app collects no data at all, it collects none from children either. There is no messaging, no content shared with anyone, and no way for one person using the app to contact another.
Regulations such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct and delete personal data held about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to return or erase. The data described above sits on your own device and is entirely under your control — you can view it in the app, edit it, and delete it by deleting the app.
If this policy changes, the updated version is posted at this address and the date at the top changes. If a future version of Runway ever collects anything, that change is described here before it ships, and in the app's release notes.
